Wedding Favours

Wedding favours are tricky. Of course you want to provide a thoughtful gift for your guests, but you don't want this expense to break the budget in any way. Are wedding favours necessary? Absolutely not! But, I'm sure everyone will admit, the right favours will certainly enhance your day.

Favours are a great way for you to thank your guests for attending your wedding. Guests definitely get excited for wedding favours, much like kids get excited to receive their loot bags after a birthday party. That being said, with the increase in costs associated with the big day, many couples are opting out of offering favours to save on this expense.

I struggled with the decision to offer favours at our wedding. With about 160 people in attendance, this is no easy feat from both a cost and a logistics perspective. Thankfully, the business we are ordering our favours from has offered to box and label them for us, relieving a lot of the work involved. Although it is an expense we could have eliminated, we decided we wanted to honour this particular tradition to leave a lasting impression on our guests.

Throughout the planning process I have heard of so many unique favour ideas. One that I liked in particular was the idea of giving each guest a small tree sapling. Your guests can plant the tree and watch it grow for years to come, and always remember your special day.

Ultimately, I think if you choose to provide some form of wedding favour it should relate back to either the wedding theme or to you as a couple. If it's a grab bag full of candy, surely one of you must have a sweet tooth! If it's a tree sapling, I would imagine the wedding would likely incorporate a lot of other outdoor/natural elements.

My fiancĂ© and I have decided to give our guests something that we both enjoy, and quite often enjoy together. I really feel like our favour choice speaks to us as a couple. We hope our guests enjoy them! ~♡~
